How to Make Solé Water for Health and Wellness

A little back story for you: after I had Grayson, I had some intense postpartum anxiety until I learned how to make sole water and all of its health benefits for balancing hormones and adrenal glands. Also because I was a tired mom, I went back to drinking coffee each morning and that’s where it all went downhill. I started to notice that my daily coffee made my anxiety so much worse and my stress level went through the roof (both physical and emotional stress). So I had to make a change! I still needed that extra little boost of energy because HELLO MOM LIFE and my sole water in the morning gives me that! Plus this is totally safe to take while pregnant or breastfeeding.

What is solé water?

Sole water is a drink made from filtered water and pink Himalayan sea salt with tons of benefits! It is known to aid in sleep, digestion and energy levels. It can also balance minerals leading to improved hormone balance and helping with adrenal fatigue.

Our bodies are missing lots of minerals because our daily diets don’t provide those minerals. Think of what Himalayan sea salt is: MINERALS! It actually includes 84 necessary minerals that were missing when an average population was tested! We can get the minerals we need right in our kitchen from a super simple drink.

Himalayan Sea Salt

Salt isn’t the as bad as it’s made to be, especially if you’re consuming it in the correct way and in the correct amounts.  Keep in mind, regular table salt and Himalayan sea salt are totally different. Table salt is missing all those necessary minerals and specifically table salt is what they mean when they say “salt is bad for you”. Sodium is an essential nutrient for life. Not processed sodium though, the purest form that actually exists in nature. “The American Heart Association recommends no more than 2300 mg of sodium per day. They also point out that the average American eats 3400 milligrams of sodium per day, with 70% of that sodium coming from packaged foods.”

High quality salt was once so valuable that people traded it ounce per ounce with gold! Wonder why God calls us to be the “salt of the Earth.” Himalayan sea salt is superior and is the only salt that I would use for this for many reasons.

Choose Himalayan Because…

  • Highest grade salt available
  • The purest form of salt available
  • Mostly unprocessed and filled with minerals
  • It doesn’t have any of the “anti-clumping” agents on it like your typical table salt does
  • Natural healing properties

How to Make Solé Water

Sole water is simply salt and water. All you need is a bag of high quality Himalayan sea salt (can buy here on amazon), good filtered water (we use a ProOne filter, which replaced the Berkey when they went out of business) and a glass jar you can close or cover.

It’s super easy to make!

  1. Pour  your glass jar 1/4 full of pink Himalayan sea salt.
  2. Fill it the rest of the way with filtered water.
  3. Cover it up. Shake it up, turn it around, then put the jar on your counter covered. Overnight (usually takes 12-24 hrs) the water will absorb as much salt as physically possible.
  4. When you’re ready to drink it, just pour yourself a glass of water and then take one spoonful of the salt water into your water, mix, and drink. (Note: do not shake the extra salt at the bottom up. It’ll make your sole water extra salty, which you don’t need. We’re only looking for those minerals.)

When to Drink Your Sole Water

I drink mine first thing in the morning on an empty stomach for quickest absorption. I usually try to wait 15-30 min before eating. Start with one tbsp and then some people work their way up to 2-3 tbsp. I usually do only 2 tbsp and I’ve been doing this for almost a year. Everyone’s body is different, so just take as little or as much up to 3 tbsp as you need and feel benefits for! It’s advisable to start slow and level up from there, otherwise it can act as a laxative and cause discomfort.

Research shows that “In a nine-week study undertaken in 2003 at the Inter-University of Graz, Austria examined the effects of Himalayan Crystal Salt on physical and psychological functions of the body. It is the only salt ever to have been the subject of comprehensive double-blind scientific research. The results of the study, presented in the book, Water & Salt – The Essence of Life by Dr. Barbara Hendel, M.D. and biophysicist Peter Ferreira, confirmed significant positive changes in respiratory, circulatory, organ, connective tissue and nervous system functions. Patients also reported increases in quality of sleep, energy and concentration levels, brain activity, weight loss, enhanced consciousness, and noticeable hair and nail growth.”

Solé to Improve Hormones & Adrenal Fatigue

Our cells need salt to function. Our cells also need minerals to function. Without salt, our body can’t perform the essential function of turning nutrients into energy.

Do any of these symptoms sound familiar?

  • Unable to fall asleep even though you’re tired
  • Consistently low blood pressure or dizziness upon standing
  • Depression, even sometimes unresolved after medication
  • Low libido or sex drive
  • Losing hair for no reason
  • Anxiety or panic attacks
  • Irritable under stress
  • Foggy thinking
  • Needing coffee to get going and throughout the day
  • Joint pain
  • Muscla mass loss

These are just some of the many symptoms of adrenal fatigue. Your adrenal glands are known as your “stress response” glands. If they aren’t in great working order, you can find yourself in constant fight or flight mode. This means your body literally thinks you’re in survival mode constantly. Imagine the stress that puts on your body. This is why it’s so important to balance those adrenals and step one is to get enough minerals.

Other Options Besides Sole Water

If you don’t want to go to the trouble of making solé water, you can also make an adrenal cocktail. I will share my recipe for that soon! Or you can buy these mineral cell salts that you put right into your morning cup of water.

As always, I am not a doctor, so consult your doctor if you have any questions.
